Todorov's Narrative Theory He Explains that in every story, in the beginning, there is always an equilibrium , A State of balance , The status quo so to speak. Everyone is living their day to day lives. While its not perfect or sometimes even good, it is still the lives that they lived. But as time passes on, a disruption appears , a sudden change the regular day to day routine. And in a story this is where the conflict would begin, a problem that the characters would need to solve. But before that the acknowledgement of the disruption would come, This where the Characters or the Character would find out about the problem and begin the prosses of fixing it. This brings us to the Resolution phase, where the problem had been solved. And now instead of the previous equilibrium.
